Baptism, Two For One Style

This weekend was a special one in our family. Not only did we have Hunter baptized, but his cousin, Pippa, was baptized at the same time. And we are Pippa's godparents, and my brother and sister-in-law are Hunter's godparents. It was exciting to have dual roles!

There were five babies being baptized at this mass, so there was a lot going on! And Asher and Ava refused to leave our sides to sit with the grandparents, so that made it even more interesting (although they did really well overall). We then had a reception in the church basement with food catered, which was delicious, along with Nikki's dad and a friend providing some awesome live music entertainment. And the space was big enough for all the little ones to run around in, so it was all pretty perfect.

And here are the older kids together. This was Ava's Christmas dress that she refused to wear on Christmas, and it took a lot of coercion to get her to wear it this time, but I'm so glad she did because it's so cute!

This weekend was also the annual P. F. Chang's Rock N Roll Marathon in Phoenix. My dad ran the half-marathon for the 10th year in a row, and my brother, Chris, decided to join him to commemorate the anniversary.

This was the first time I had made it to the finish line because it is pure craziness! Thousands and thousands of people, runners and spectators alike. But I was determined to do it for my dad's 10th (and probably final) race. He will continue to run races, as he does throughout the year, but is probably done with this specific event. I'm glad we were there, even though it took us about half an hour to make it out of the parking garage! That was rough since Hunter was hysterical, but we made it eventually.
